Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Hebrews 4:16
I come before you God.
Desperately. Defiantly. Humbly. Boldly.
Desperate because I know you are the One thing I need in my life right now. I need you like air. I need you like water. Be my nourishment today and for the days to come. Be the energy that I need to continue to exist on this earth.
Defiant because I know I am wholly undeserving of any part of You. I do not deserve your goodness, kindness, mercy, and love. And yet I still come before despite all this, believing in Your unlimited capacity to forgive. Holding to the hope that is You, that is Jesus. That despite my weakness, You are still there, still willing to embrace Your daughter.
My worth is found in You alone.
Humbly because there is no other way to be. For someone as underserving, for someone as sinful, and sometimes as ungrateful as I am, there is no other way I can even show my face to You right now Lord. Please take my humility, and multiply it, so that I will never again forget what it is to be small before You, bowed down before You.
Bold because this is what You said in Your Word. And though I have less confidence in myself, I have all the confidence in Your Word, in Your command.
I love You Lord and I will try to obey.
Change me Jesus. You have done it before, please do it again. You are the only one with the power to do so. Change me from the inside out. Change me and take away away everything that is not pleasing unto You. Change me until I can barely recognise myself, because all I see is You. Change me such that I am amazed at the transformation. Change me and my emotions. Change me and my speech and speech patterns. Change me and my thoughts. Oh God, change my thoughts! For they betray and lie and steal my joy and cause me pain. Change my thoughts God. I beg of You.
Your Spirit is Holy, divine, powerful and supernatural. All that I ask is within Your power. All that I seek is found in You. Your reach is infinite, Your love, supreme.
Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
James 5:16
Lord, I lift up to You the challenges that He is going through right now. Be the clarity that unfogs His mind. Be the peace that overwhelms His spirit. Lead Him to the right paths. Show Him the way Lord. Speak to Him Jesus.
I pray that He finds His worship again. I pray that He seeks You out again. Have mercy on your son, Lord God. Forgive him his trespasses; look deep into his heart and see that You are still seated there.
Help him find his way back to You. First and foremost, back to You Jesus, back into Your love. Make him feel Your presence. Make him know that He is loved by You, and that is all that matters.
Remind him of who He is. He is your son, He is your beloved. Before You he is weak, and it is that weakness before You that makes him strongest of all.
Reveal to him your message. Remind him of his purpose.
And through it all God, as You are taking care of his spiritual life, protect him every day. Keep him safe, keep him in comfort, keep him healthy.
Protect him from the virus, God, I pray fervently for this.
Remind him that he is who he is, because You are who You are.
Lord, He is in Your hands now. This is what I believe, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.
