During my uber ride this morning the driver asked me if I was Roman Catholic. I said I was Christian. And he was… disappointed haha. He said it was a downgrade.
I laughed and said, “why, got levels is it?”*
* I tend to skewer the English language when I talk to locals sometimes.
I wasn’t insulted at all. Just amused. He said it was an important decision because it was about my future, and I agreed wholeheartedly. He said that if you look back and read through the history, Roman Catholicism was the “superior” religion, that it was the first, and that it was the original one; that other religions just branched off of it.
I smiled and nodded, internally not agreeing, but not wanting to get into an entire debate with him as well.
