LORD, if you kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive? But you offer forgiveness, that we might learn to fear you.
Psalms 130:3-4 NLT
Goodness, if God kept a record, I am surely going straight to hell. I know the things that I have done and said, I’m still a work in progress.
But then again, He is a God of forgiveness. He is a God of love so great that He can forgive more than we have ever done, even those we have yet to do.
Lord, make me worthy of this love today. As much as I can, in word and action, make me worthy of you.
Amen
This made me check the date it was written: December 2015.
This statement stood the test of time for sure.
Almost ten years later, and can you imagine that list, if it was kept up? In terms of data, and if it includes video, audio, and images, we would be surpassing terabytes of information. From the whitest of lies, to the gravest of betrayals. From the slightest of (intentional or unintentional) mistakes, to the biggest, mortal sin type of eyes-closed, heart-hardened calculated and premeditated heinous thoughts and actions.
God. Help
