I will even make a road in the wilderness
Isaiah 43:19 NKJV
Jesus will walk through your wilderness to get to you because you are worth it.
Everyone is on their own personal journey. Everyone has their own cross to bear. Everyone has their own particular wilderness.
A wilderness is a wild, uninhabited, uncultivated place. Inhospitable. Not conducive to normal living.
Everyone’s is different. One person’s wilderness might be an overrun, untamed jungle, full of feral animals that seem to stalk and prowl from every shadow. Another person’s wild place might be a wide open desert, a dry and lifeless wasteland with nothing but sand as far as the eyes can see.
Metaphorically speaking, being in the wilderness implies a time in your life when there seems to be no way out. When everything and everyone seem to be against you. When all the circumstances are dire, all the conditions are the worst possible case scenario.
As described, the wilderness is not an easy place to access. The fact that you are there already implies that you had to go through some difficulties, and was possibly forcibly placed there by your struggles.
And yet Jesus is telling us here that He is going to make a way through the hopeless situation. He is telling us here that He will trek through your jungle, hike through your dessert, and make His way to where you are, because He loves you and you are worth it.
Everyone has their own particular wilderness. However, there has never been a wasteland created, nor will there ever be, that God will not go through to get to you.
And if you are there right now, in the thick of it, buried in the wilds, look up. Then stand up. Then go to Him. He is making His way towards you. Get ready.
