Behold
Isaiah 43:19 NKJV
Look here. Pay attention. Listen carefully.
The first word of this verse is an unsubtle command to take heed. It’s a very simple instruction, and one of the very first words we learn at a young age: Listen. Look. See.
Children sometimes need to be told this over and over again, because they have short attention spans. It’s understandable because their life is just beginning, and their world is so big, and there’s always so many new things happening.
As children of God, it’s the same thing. Sometimes, we still have to be told to pay attention. It doesn’t matter how long you have been in a relationship with Jesus. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been a member of the church for so long that you remember when our numbers were still in the double or triple digits. It doesn’t matter if you just joined your life group yesterday.
Friends, God is telling us today to BEHOLD HIM in all His glory. BEHOLD HIM and all His promises. BEHOLD HIM and His miracles. BEHOLD HIM with your ears and your eyes and your mind, and your heart. Open yourself up to the entire experience of being with Him completely and wholeheartedly.
And see the difference He will make in your life.
