I know I need all the help I can get, and I know I need to use what works for me, and what works for me in a big way (aside from writing things down) is music, so I looked for the songs that we sing in Church. I found torrents of the Hillsong albums, and got those.
(Sidenote: Are torrents Christian? I found some that are being seeded from http://christiandownloads.cjb.net/, “a large community of Christians sharing their faith online”. Here is a part of their website:
Why do we do this: Because of major record labels, many Christian artists cannot be found in your local store, and are not played often on radio. However, the Internet provides an excellent way to find new Christian music, and that’s what our community is focusing on. We always encourage our members to support the artists that minister to them.
I really hope that makes it ok. I try to read more on this later.)
Anyway, the songs are great, but there’s one song that I would really like to have, which I’ve learned is titled “I’m Forever Yours” by Planet Shakers. I can’t find an mp3 for it anywhere, but found this guy singing it, and singing it well.
I ended up searching for his name in youtube (username: jedimindless, real name: Daniel Choo), and listening to the rest of his rendition of the songs all day. He’s really good, and he even offers instructional videos on how to play the songs that he sings. I just let his vids play all day in a browser tab, and just listened to it instead of the streaming stand up comedy I usually listen to.
