20 The word of the LORD came to Haggai a second time on the twenty-fourth day of the month: 21 “Tell Zerubbabel governor of Judah that I will shake the heavens and the earth. 22 I will overturn royal thrones and shatter the power of the foreign kingdoms. I will overthrow chariots and their drivers; horses and their riders will fall, each by the sword of his brother.

23 ” ‘On that day,’ declares the LORD Almighty, ‘I will take you, my servant Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel,’ declares the LORD, ‘and I will make you like my signet ring, for I have chosen you,’ declares the LORD Almighty.”

Haggai 2:20-23
  1. We have been given the authority to speak and move in His name.
    • By His blood we have been saved; by His stripes we have been healed
    • When we received God in our hearts we also received His Holy Spirit in our lives
  2. This authority comes with a covering of righteousness
    • The fact of our salvation seals this righteousness in us
    • We should act as if we are worthy of the righteousness that has been imparted to us
  3. We should not let this authority be diminished or go to waste.
    • Our authority is latent until we use it; passive until we activate it; stagnant until we refresh it.
