1. Blatant miracles
In this chapter we see a story of healing, one of the many such manifestations in the Bible. While this is truly a supernatural event, we are admonished by Peter not to be too surprised at such a wonderful miracle, and in fact to be assured that it is only to be expected from such a God as the one who raised Jesus from the dead.
Through our faith the supernatural is made natural, and it should be able to sustain the majesty of God, encompass the awesome miracles that can take place through Jesus Christ.
In our ministry, we should be expectant of the same miracles taking place. Having a heart that anticipates nothing less than the supernatural, we know that we will be able to meet our goal in the name of God who will provide for us.
Prayer
Father I will never cease to be amazed at Your greatness. Grant me a heart that will be able to contain the wonder and awe at the extent of Your splendor, while still maintaining unwavering belief even without complete comprension.
2. Subtle signs
When the beggar turned to Peter and John, he was expecting silver or gold, but instead, he received something else entirely. And he was fortunate enough to recognize that what he got was far better than what he was asking for.
Sometimes God wouldn’t give us exactly what we are asking for, because He knows what is best for us, has had plans for us since before we were born. We should pray to be as insightful as the beggar to know to appreciate His gifts when it is bestowed upon us.
Prayer
Father open my mind to the signs that you want me to see, and give me the wisdom to interpret them according to Your will. Let me not be blind to Your holy reasoning, and give me the leading to recognize when it is Your divine plan at work.
