Black Saturday: A Time of reflection and a Spirit of waiting
For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
Psalm 30:5
After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his presence.
Hosea 6:2
Personal Meditation:
How grateful are you towards Jesus’ obedience on the cross? On His willingness to bring light into the world?
Group Discussion:
- Share the dark moments of your life and how you overcome it.
- In the midst of waiting & confusion what should be our attitude towards God?
Prayer:
Father; by the example of sending your son to purchase us through His sacrificial death, you have shown us the meaning of true love. Your word has taught us that we are called to love one another. In this way the world will know we have passed from death to life. The church is called to walk in love because You are love. Let the church hear your invitation again to draw near to you and know that you will draw near to us. Teach us to return to times of waiting on you, just soaking in your presence and learning to center our hearts in yours.
In Jesus name. Amen
