“While Jesus was here on earth, he offered prayers and pleadings, with a loud cry and tears, to the one who could rescue him from death. And God heard his prayers because of his deep reverence for God.”
Hebrews 5:7 NLT
“Groanings that are too deep for words”
“Loud cry and tears”
“Crushed with grief to the point of death”
God can get really graphic when it comes to suffering. All of those words come from the Bible. The last one was uttered by Jesus as He prayed in Gethsemane.
Because the first step to overcoming is acceptance. An acknowledgment of our suffering. Being vulnerable in front of God, and being completely honest with Him about everything.
There’s no point in keeping a stiff upper lip when God knows you down to the deepest darkest recesses of your heart and mind!
So go ahead and weep, for at the end of that sorrow lies redemption.
