21But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
Romans 3:21-24
- We are not outside the law of the government which presides under us.
- However, our righteousness comes from God, not from the government, or anything else. “Goodness” is defined by how you uphold the commandments of God, not by how much of a good citizen you are, or how good you are at following rules and regulations.
- All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God therefore none of us can claim to be holier than the other.
- The only true measure of a person is the degree to which he holds himself accountable to the Lord.
