Whatever you use as a salve for your wounds that does not involve the Word of God is a temporary measure and as such will not be fully effective.
Medicines and doctors are vehicles for God’s healing, mediums via which He manifests His power in this world.
If you rely solely on soothing potions and other worldly devices and yet do not call on the name of the Lord, then you are only healing the surface, if that. Any comfort will be superficial, and it will be fleeting, that is a guarantee. It might even be more damaging in the long run.
Everything that touches your lips, touches your body, has to be accompanied with prayers — prayers of gratitude, prayers of expectation, and prayers of faith.
Gratitude for the blessing and the privilege, expectation of the miracle, and faith in the power of Jesus that will bring all these about.
So go ahead and take your vitamins, drink your supplements, and slather on that ointment. But believe in your heart that none of it will work if God is not in them.
